Valuing Sustainability

The capacity to self-reflect on one's values (EU Competencies) and actions (UNESCO) while:

Critically evaluating how these are aligned with sustainable values ( EU Competencies),principles, goals and targets, and how they can be negotiated (UNESCO), depending on the context, conflict of interest and trade-offs(UNESCO)

Taking into accountuncertain knowledge and contradictions (UNESCO)

Being able to identify and critically question various values and norms, focusing on sustainable systems.”(Weik and Reikman, 2018).

Differentiating between intrinsic and extrinsic values in the social and natural world (Weik et al. 2011).

Critically evaluating how particular stated values align with agreed-uponsustainability values.

To differentiate between espoused values and practiced values.(Weik et al. 2011).

Promoting and supporting freedom, equality, solidarity, tolerance,respect for nature, and taking on the responsibility of managing economic and social development globally (Shepherd et al. 2009).
